Employment Information

Sellersville Borough has an opening for a full-time Public Works Laborer position. Hours of work Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 40 hours per week. Position requires periodic long hours and emergency night/weekend work. Laborer is responsible for preparing broken and eroding pavement on borough streets, maintenance of the park system, sewer system and building maintenance, maintenance of equipment, and snow removal. Position involves lifting heavy objects, walking and standing for long periods of time and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Employee will be expected to lift, push, pull or carry objects; use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Applicants need to be physically capable of strenuous work and be able to understand and follow safety precautions. The position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and the ability to quickly move arms and legs.
Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and CDL license with class B preferred. Starting rate for this position is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
